School Advisory Committee (SAC)

School Advisory Committee (SAC)

The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a team of people representing various segments of the community – the principal, teachers, education support employees, students, parents, and other business and community citizens. A majority of the members of each school advisory council must be persons who are not employed by the school district. The SAC serves as a voice for school improvement by assisting the principal in preparing and evaluating the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and providing input on the school's budget. Council members representing teachers, education support employees, students, and parents are elected by their respective peer group, and business and community members are selected to ensure representation of the ethnic, racial, and economic community served by the school. The SAC plays a crucial role in fostering continuous improvement and ensuring that the school's decisions reflect the needs of all stakeholders.

The School Advisory Council (SAC) at Luminary Elementary provides families and community members the opportunity to learn about school programs, instructional initiatives, and plans for continuous improvement while offering meaningful feedback and input. We invite all parents and community members to attend SAC meetings and engage in learning about the programs and instruction that support student success at Luminary Elementary.
